More techniques for the tutorial
Right now the tutorial teaches only the very basics of combat which isn't enough knowledge for any random newcomer to compete with veterans.
The tutorials should include at least the various stance lock options (stance lock button, stance lock by default, and inverted stance lock button). The game could change the controls automatically for the player in that tutorial setting so he quickly sees what the difference is.
Also feinting and parrying is a big one. And maybe something about fighting in groups... place some friendly bots next to the player and make them fight in a tight shield wall like "be sure to only use stab and overhead attack to not hit your comrades".
Console with logs
I wish we get a console (~ or L) where we can see all of logs from battle.
Contained:
- all the kills (who killed who, with weapon name)
- informations about who did we team hit and who TH us
- maybe what flag was captured and by who
- start and end time of battle
Logs could auto-save in okam dir (one file overwritten after every map).
We could see that logs even after battle in main menu (or notepad)
construction
I want to propose the next things… It would be good if we can enter to the location and extract resources (wood, stone) after capturing the village or castle. Also it will be nice if we can improve our lands (build the gates, improve fortification etc.). To strengthen the defense, the gates must have life points and might be destroyed by attacking blows.
It would be good decision if you do special buildings that we can build in the locations under control of guild. Buildings like granary, lumber mill, mill… These buildings will increase amount of loot and soldiers from this location (for location owners). And also these buildings will be destroyed after any other guild capture the location.
Give new clans a “starter pack” of troops
Allow new clans to start quicker on the Militari map by giving them a one-time bonus upon first entry to the mode. Give the troops to the clan leader and make it anywhere between 150 and 300 troops.
Let me check the battle tab while in combat
Currently when I'm playing conquest/skirmish there is no way for me to see the scheduled battles. I might miss an important one unless I leave to check it from the barracks.
Let me see it at all times.
Good idea! We actually finished it a while ago and it's in the game already! You just have to open Barracks first, and you'll see.
Let anyone be kickable from a battle
Commanders can not be kicked by other commanders if they have accepted themselves. Let anyone be kickable.
Will have to discuss it I guess, but could seem a bit strange after all.
ps Moved it from bugs to ideas.
Realistic Weapons Forging
This is something I've wanted to suggust for quite some time. As a real blacksmith I want to see a game that allows someone to actually take an ingot of metal and forge a weapon out of it!
How this would work is you click in a certain area on the metal to act as a hammer blow and the mesh grid is moved according to the strength of the blows (Defined by keys or by UI elements) Stronger will obviously move more metal, and lighter less metal moved. This can expand the mesh of the object if it gets thin enough or is in the correct area to expand. (Possibility of different kinds of hammers for different as well) You can rotate the ingot as needed (with bounding boxes for the anvil and such)
Once the player is done forging the weapon they must define what kind of weapon it is.
They can the move to a grindstone and define the edge of the weapon(by moving the edge of the weapon to touch the grindstone, or if the weapon was defined as a blunt weapon it just skips the grindstone and allows for the placement of the handle, which will define what kind of weapon it is) this all will have a certain amount of skill to it and skilled smiths can create high quality weapons!
(When the weapon is done the stats can be calculated fairly easily by surface area, and angle of cutting edge, and weight of the weapon, taken by density and volume) This allows for COMPLETELY costomisable weapons.
This is a bit long but I'd love to have this in game! I love forging and I'd love to be able to forge someone a truely beautiful weapon.
Graphical Overhaul: Shadows and light
since game was released there was specific "light settings" which made the combat significant worse. It is pretty hard to see the swords especially under the shadows of some tree models also it doesnt look really good currently
Sort and filter clans
- ability to sort clans by region, name, member count or filter out different regions
Current clan screen is a mess with all those regions! We'll do a region filter first, and could add sorting later if needed.
clan banners next to clan names in the list
In the clan tab it should show the banners of each clan right next to their name
Siege: Storm Towers
Storm Towers moved by humans strength to get on the walls of a caslte. Prob defendable by fire arrows or catapults on the castle towers
Siege: Ladders
Portable ladders which can be places and removed by players on every wall to climb the walls. Also you will be able to defend yourself on the ladder at least with a secondary 1h weapon
Siege : Destructable Gates by battering ram
introducing battering rams and big gates can only destroyed by them
